asb-skills
Public Claude Code skills implementing frameworks from A Smart Bear and Hidden Multipliers.
Browse the skills at skills.asmartbear.com.
Install the skills
With the skills CLI — installs into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and dozens of other coding agents, and stays updatable:
npx skills add asmartbear/asb-skills # all skills (prompts per agent)
npx skills add asmartbear/asb-skills --skill asb-positioning # just one
npx skills update # pull future improvements
As a Claude Code plugin — this repo is also a plugin marketplace. From within Claude Code:
/plugin marketplace add asmartbear/asb-skills
/plugin install asb-skills@asb-skills
Update later with /plugin marketplace update asb-skills.
By hand — every skill is a single self-contained markdown file at
.claude/skills/asb-<name>/SKILL.md; copy it into your own
~/.claude/skills/asb-<name>/SKILL.md. A ZIP of all skills and per-skill
copy buttons are on the install page.
Where the skills live
.claude/skills/asb-<name>/SKILL.md— the canonical, single source of truth for every public skill. No build step, no generated copies; the website, the ZIP, the CLI, and the plugin marketplace all serve these exact files.dev-skills/<name>/(noasb-prefix) — dev-only tooling for working in this repo, loaded into local Claude Code sessions via symlinks in.claude/skills/. Never distributed: the skills CLI doesn't follow symlinks, and their frontmatter carriesmetadata.internal: true..claude-plugin/marketplace.json,plugins/asb-skills/(the Claude Code plugin: a manifest plus symlinks to the public skills), andskills.sh.json— distribution artifacts, generated bybun run gen-manifests. Don't edit by hand.
Develop
bun install, then see CLAUDE.md for commands and the project rules
(especially the public/dev-only skill distinction and the
"kinds of changes" guide).

Future
Ideas worth doing once the catalog grows or the priority changes. Not backlog items in any tracked sense — just a parking lot.
- skills.sh badge. The repo appears on skills.sh
automatically once people install via
npx skills add; when it does, add the install-count badge to this README:[](https://skills.sh/asmartbear/asb-skills). - One section per chapter (plus an "Articles" section). Not categories/tags as such — instead a section per chapter of Hidden Multipliers for the skills drawn from that chapter, and one "Articles" section for skills drawn from A Smart Bear articles that aren't in the book. Hold off until we have more skills built; it'll be easier to see what this should look like with real data, and we want to pile more in before adding the structure. (Alternative groupings worth considering when we do it — by problem the reader has, or by stage of company.)
- Sort/filter strip on the home page (Featured · Newest · All). Worth it once there are 6+ skills.
- "Recently added" rail on the home page. A single horizontal row at the top of the home page surfacing the newest skill (or the next-most- recently-updated one). Gives the home page a sense of motion. Useful once there's a steady cadence of new skills.
