Standby, Go - a cue sheet for when the tech fails mid-talk
A cue sheet for talks, class presentations, pitches and demos. Type the running order - what, minutes, what it leans on (slides, wifi, a live demo, a login, video, sound, presenter notes, a cable, a mic, props, another person) - and see it in a stage manager's prompt book: the clock against your slot and where it runs out, a cue light on every segment (green, amber, red, by a rule of thumb) and a board of everything that can fail. One metered run calls the show: a verdict by a fixed rule (go, hold, rework), and for every segment a standby check, a fallback that works without the thing that failed and a line to say while you recover, plus up to three cuts, the pre-show checks and what to watch out for; the page re-checks every reply and exports a cue sheet.
